It’s good to start everything with God. He loves it when we involve Him, and it shows that we acknowledge Him in our daily activities. Before the class, let’s take a moment to pray for God’s guidance. We will say a very brief 1 minute prayer before class. Prayer helps us STAY focused on what we are about to learn. It invites God and makes the experience more meaningful.
We will quickly pray for clarity and understanding so that we can make the most of this opportunity to learn.
1 Minute Prayer Before Class
This prayer covers the teacher and fellow students. Together, everyone in the class can create a positive environment for learning. Now, let’s bow our heads and say this short prayer:
Dear God,
We pray for Your guidance as we step into this space of learning. Bless us all with open minds, and help us to be willing to learn. We come as students seeking knowledge. But we also acknowledge that true wisdom comes from You alone.
As we prepare to engage with our studies, we pray that You clear our minds of distractions or anything that may hinder our understanding. Let our thoughts be that of clarity so that we can understand the concepts that will be taught today. May our brains be ready, and our hearts able to welcome in education. May we not take this opportunity for granted.
Lord, we also ask that You bless our teacher. Help them with the wisdom as well as patience to convey the material in a way that we can understand. May they be encouraged in their teaching, and understand that their teachings will shape our future.
Proverbs 2:6 says, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” We hold onto this truth, knowing that all knowledge is a gift from You.
During the class, we pray for a spirit of cooperation among us. Help us to be respectful of one another, to listen, and to contribute to discussions. Let there be peace in the classroom, and may we learn not just from the material, but from each other as well.
O Lord, we are aware that sometimes, the pressures of study can cause anxiety. This is why we ask for Your power to calm our nerves because Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” We present our request for understanding to You.
Let what we learn today help us academically and in our personal growth. May the knowledge we gain be used to help others and to make the world a better place.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen!
