A Guidance Prayer for Someone on Trance

Indeed, life is full of mysteries, and sometimes, God speaks to us in methods we don’t fully understand. One of those is through trances, and today, we will say this PRAYER for someone on trance or hypnosis (as some would see it).

Prophet Peter in Acts 10:9-16 is an example of how God often uses trances to show us divine truths, hidden messages, or even directs on how we can shape our own lives. In that moment, Peter didn’t know what the vision meant, but in time, God made it clear. He gives revelation, but He also grants the wisdom to understand it.

When you or someone you know experiences a trance, it’s not just a random event. This is an opportunity for deeper connection with God. But with such experiences, there’s a need for protection, and, of course STRENGTH. That’s why we come together in prayer — to ask God for spiritual empowerment during and after the trance. We are standing firm in faith of God’s guidance.

This prayer will help you stay grounded and confident enough to receive whatever God is showing. Besides, Peter found purpose in his vision, so too will you find meaning.

Prayer for Someone on Trance

Let’s say this prayer with boldness and expectation.

1. Prayer Asking for protection over the person experiencing a trance, that no harm comes to them spiritually or physically

Heavenly Father, I am here over Your child who is in a trance. Cover them with Your hand and safe from any spiritual or physical harm that could arise in their vulnerable state. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of need (Psalm 46:1). Let no evil forces approach them or cause any disturbance while they are in this state. Lord, let Your peace reign over their spirit, and let nothing disrupt the stillness of their heart.

Father, I know that Your word says, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14). Allow them to rest in Your protection, Your love and shield. Let no attack of the enemy find a way into their heart or mind. Guard them completely in this moment, and let them emerge untouched and unharmed.

I pray this in the holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

2. Father, guide their spirit as they are in this state, and let Your presence be with them throughout

I pray that You take control of their spirit during this trance. Let Your presence be their guide.

They may not understand what they are experiencing, but I ask that You direct every moment of their journey in this state.

Show them Your path, and may they only follow Your lead in this experience. If there is uncertainty, let Your light shine on thee way. If there is fear, let Your peace reign supreme.

Lord, as You are the great Shepherd who guides and watches over Your flock, guide their spirit now. Psalm 37:23 says that “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,” and I trust that You will order every step of their spirit through this trance. May no darkness overtake them, but let Your light be ever-present, walking with them, leading them to peace.

Let them feel Your nearness, Lord. Let them rest in the assurance that You are with them from the beginning to the end of this experience. Keep them close to You and carry them safely through.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

3. Prayer to cancel any attempt by the enemy to bring confusion or fear through this trance

Please, intervene and block the plans of the enemy to bring confusion or fear during this trance. I declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Protect their mind and their heart from any deceptive tricks that the enemy might try to use against them.

I stand in faith. I know that You are stronger than any force that tries to interfere with Your children.

Let their thoughts remain clear, and their spirit undisturbed by any fear. Confusion and fear are not from You, for Your word says, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Let that truth remain with them throughout this entire experience. Cancel every negative plan of the enemy in Jesus’ name.

May the Lord be praised. Amen.

4. If this trance is a message from God, Prayer for understanding and wisdom to receive it fully

Dear God,

Is this trance from You? If Yes, I hereby plead You to give them the capacity to receive the message fully. Open their spiritual eyes, Lord, so that they may clearly see what You are revealing. Grant them wisdom, so that they can interpret Your message accurately and not be confused by what they see. If there is anything unclear, I ask that You make it plain to them in a way they can grasp.

Dear God, You are the source of all wisdom. I pray that You direct their thoughts and help them recognize the significance of this experience.

Be it a warning, instruction, or encouragement, let them understand it, and help them respond just how You desire. I pray that no part of the message is lost or misunderstood.

Keep their mind focused on what is important, and let distractions fall away, so that Your voice is the only one they hear in this moment. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

5. Surround them with Your angels to guard their heart during this experience

Father in Heaven,

I pray that You send Your angels to surround this person during their trance. Let these angels be a shield around them, guarding their heart from any fear or confusion that could arise. I know that trances can leave a person vulnerable, but with Your divine protection, nothing can harm them. Keep their heart steady, Lord, so that no evil can take root or shake their confidence.

Let Your angels stand firm, a powerful defense that cannot be broken. As they move through this experience, let these heavenly beings protect them from any spiritual attack or negative influence. Keep their heart safe, Lord, and give them the confidence to trust in You fully.

You surrounded Your children with a hedge of protection, and so let that same covering be upon them now. May they be comforted by Your presence and the assurance that You have assigned angels to watch over them through this moment.

I pray in the holy name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

6. A Declaration prayer that no evil power will manipulate this trance for harm.

Lord, I declare that no evil power will have any influence over this trance.

I speak boldly that no manipulation will take place, and no harm will come from this experience.

In the name of Jesus, I bind every force of darkness that seeks to twist or distort what is happening.

Lord, I know You are stronger than any evil that tries to interfere. Therefore, I declare that Your power will guide this experience, and anything contrary will be silenced. No scheme of the enemy will succeed!

I declare this trance will not be used for harm but will bring only clarity and truth.

Please, take FULL control and make sure nothing outside of Your will takes place here.

Amen and Amen.

7. Lord, help this person in trance remember and correctly interpret any revelation that comes from You

Please, bring clarity to their mind so they can recall every detail of the revelation You give them during this trance. Sometimes, the things we see in the spirit can be hard to hold onto, but I pray You help them to remember it all clearly. Let none of it fade from their memory, but let each part remain vivid and intact.

Lord, give them the ability to interpret what You are showing them with accuracy. I pray they do not rely on their own understanding, but rather on the wisdom that comes from You. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Dear God, as they call on You for understanding, reveal to them what is hidden and grant them insight.

If there are symbols or messages that are not clear, please make it plain to them. Help them decode the real meaning of the revelation, and act on it according to Your will.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

8. Powerful prayer for peace and spiritual strength, so they come out of the trance empowered

Lord,

Let there be peace. Fill the heart of this person as they move through and come out of the trance. Trances can sometimes leave a person in uncertainty, but make Your peace wash over them. Strengthen their spirit, Father, so that they are not weakened by what they’ve experienced, but instead come out stronger and more empowered.

Let Your peace be like a river flowing through them. Isaiah 26:3 reminds us, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Let their mind focus on You alone so that they can walk out of this experience with confidence and not fear.

Give them the spiritual stamina to handle whatever comes next, and let this trance be a source of growth and empowerment. Let Your strength rise within them, Lord, so that they are equipped for whatever You have called them to do.
