Let’s keep this biblical, and remind ourselves of Mary’s story as we pray for the unborn baby and mother. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was chosen by God to bear the Savior of the world. In Luke 1:26-38, angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would conceive and bear a son, and her humble response of faith and obedience. Mary’s heart was filled with wonder, trust, and devotion as she awaited the birth of Jesus. In this same manner, we will pray for this mother’s heart to be filled with faith, hope, and love as she prepares to welcome her child into the world.
Our prayers will surround this mother and child, and we will call on God’s presence so they may experience peace, joy, and blessing. This child will also bring Light, not only to this family but to the World at large.
Prayer is important, and God loves it when we come to Him in prayer. God has always intervened in our lives. He is still listening and active today, willing to protect both mother and child during these precious days of pregnancy and beyond. Through prayer, we can trust God to watch over the unborn and the mom. Our powerful prayer will be a source of strength and blessing throughout this journey.
Prayer for Unborn Baby and Mother
1. Prayer for a Healthy Pregnancy
Our Father in Heaven,
Here I am before you praying that you will watch over the unborn child and the mother and keep them safe for us. I believe You are a loving God who cares so much about your children. Please give this woman a healthy pregnancy without any complications. We believe you are in charge, so may her body be strong and her spirit be at peace. Help her feel your love.
It is written in Psalm 139:13-14, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” I pray that you will keep knitting this baby together, making them just the way you want them to be. May this mom’s belly be a safe place for her child to grow. Make this baby’s little heart beat strong and their little hands and feet feel just right. May your love and grace shape their little minds and spirits. I pray for this expectant mother’s health. May she not have to be afraid, and may she feel your comfort during this pregnancy. Lead her to believe in your plans for her and her child.
I ask Heavens for this pregnancy to bring happiness, as well as time to look forward to and be hopeful. Please keep the mother and baby in your thoughts, Dear God, and may they feel your love at all times. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
2. A Prayer for the Protection of Unborn Baby and Mother
Dear God,
The evil ones are always battle-ready, but with you, oh Lord, we are victorious. This is why I have come before You to beg You to keep this unborn child and its mother safe from all harm or evil. Please wrap your caring arms around them and protect them from the enemy’s plans. Send your angels to protect this mother from accidents and sickness. May they realize how good and gracious a God you are when they experience your love that makes them feel comfort.
Psalm 91:11 says, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways”. There is no doubt in my mind that your angels will watch over them. May the enemy’s threats stay away from her baby, and may their mind and spirit stay safe from fear and worry.
I also pray that the mother is safe. Help her not to worry or fear during her pregnancy, and may she only feel your comfort. Dear God, bless the mother and child and keep them safe with a wall of security and a shield of faith. Let them be shining lights in the dark. I believe in your good intentions, and I am sure that you will protect this mother and child. Amen.
3. Prayer for the Healthy Development of the Child in Womb
Heavenly Father,
May your loving hands shape and form this unborn child into a work of art that is both beautiful and amazing. You are a God who really cares about our lives, and You are the One who made us in the womb and linked us together with love. I believe that you have good plans for this baby’s life. Moreover, You know us even before we are born. In Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
I know that You already know this baby while still in the womb, and I pray that you will know it and guide it. Please, make this baby healthy, and shape their little hands and feet in Your way. Your love and grace should shape their mind and spirit. May they also be a bright light in the dark and a bright star in the sky that you made.
Oh Lord, I pray for the mother’s part in this baby’s growth. Could she be a way for your love and care to reach her? Could she be a way for your grace and kindness to reach her? May she feel your help and presence as she cares for and carries this baby. Thank you for giving us life and letting us pray for this sweet baby. I believe in your plans and know that you will guide this baby’s growth.

4. Prayer for the Strength of the Expecting Mother
Dear Lord Jesus,
“He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.” (Isaiah 40:11)
It’s with a heart full of kindness and love that I come to you today. My prayer is for the lovely mother carrying this sweet unborn child. I plead with You to give her strength and resilience for the path ahead. Hold her up with your loving arms, and may your grace and kindness keep her going. I know that you are a caring God and that you are very concerned about your children. Please, be her Rock and her Refuge as she will be conceiving a child. I want her to feel Your love and peace, and understand that You are always with her.
Hold this mom and her baby close to your heart and guide them gently through life’s ups and downs. This mom’s body needs heavenly strength and good health during the delivery. Dear God, make her mind lifted and supported, and her heart full of joy and hope once she conceives. Take care of this mother’s mind and emotions so that she would not have to worry or fear. I pray for her to feel your peace. Help her believe in you and your plans, even when things may not look good. I know that You will give this mother the strength she needs for this delivery. in Jesus’ name. Amen.
5. Prayer for the Baby’s Future
Our Lord of Lords,
This precious unborn child will need Your guidance in their life. I pray that your loving hands form their future, and give them a life with meaning and purpose. I know that you have a good plan for this baby’s life and not a bad one. I also believe that you love this child. Please show this baby your plan as they grow and learn. In Jeremiah 29:11, You have also said, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I believe that You will keep this promise, and let this baby know that You will give them a great future.
May this child know and love you as they grow up. May they follow Your ways and reach their goals, and may they be a bright light in the dark and a shining star in the sky that you made. I also pray for the mother and hope that she will play a big role in this baby’s future. May she feel your presence as she cares for this baby. Thank you, Lord, for telling me that the future will be good. I know that you will lead this baby’s life all the way.

6. Prayer for Safe Delivery
Dear God,
I come to You through our Lord Jesus with faith. My prayer is for this mother’s body to be in Your care as she gets ready to give birth. Please, see to it that this precious baby is born safe and sound. May your loving arms wrap around her and your kindness and mercy cover her.
Please be with the mother and unborn child in the delivery room. I know that You are interested in every part of our lives, and so I ask for this mother to feel your peace during the procedure. May your divine strength and endurance be hers. Psalm 121:3 says, “He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber”. I claim this promise for them. Please, watch over the mother and baby and keep them safe.
This weak mother’s body should be strong and able to handle this childbirth. May the baby come into this world whole and healthy. May they cry out with joy as they take their first breath. Dear God, I also pray for the doctors and nurses who are present at the birth. Enhance their skills to do their jobs, and may your wisdom lead the way they follow throughout the delivery.
I thank You, Lord, for your love and care. I believe in your plans for the baby, and I know you will be present when this child is born. Amen.
7. A Prayer for the Emotional Well-being of the Mother
Our Father in Heaven,
It’s with a heart full of kindness and love that I come to you today. As the mother gets ready to give birth, I pray for her mental health and ask that you comfort and strengthen her. May your loving arms wrap around her and your kindness and mercy keep her going. Please, be her safe place and strength during these hard times. She should feel your love and know that You are always with her. Comfort and save this mom, and be her rock and safety.
She should not have to worry or fear, and she should feel your peace and joy. She needs to know that she is not alone and feel your loving arms around her. Lord, I pray for the mother’s relationships with the people she cares about. May they give her strength and comfort and remind her of how much you love and care for her. May they be a way for your kindness and forgiveness to reach them, and may they help you heal and restore you. I thank you for your love, and I believe in your goodness. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
8. Prayer for the Spiritual Development of this Baby
Oh, God,
May your hands shape the heart of this child, and give them a life with purpose. You are a personal God who wants to connect with each of us. Therefore, I pray that you show yourself to this baby from the very beginning of their life. May they know and love you as adults, and also follow your path until they reach their goals.
Psalm 22:10 says, “From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God.” I claim this promise for this baby. May this beautiful baby be filled with your Holy Spirit and get to know your love as they grow up. As for this mom, Heavenly Father, help her to play a good role in this child’s spiritual growth. Lord, thank you for always being caring to Your own. I trust that You have good plans for this new life, and will always be with them now and forevermore.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the precious gift of life growing within me. Today, I pray for your protection and blessing upon my unborn child and me. Grant me a safe and healthy pregnancy. I should not experience any complications or fear. I also pray for your loving hands to surround us.
Please, reveal your purpose for my child’s life, and may they grow up to know and love you. Fill me with your wisdom, grace, and strength as I am preparing to become a mother. I will need You to help me grow this child in a way that brings You honor.
