Ruth, the Moabite woman, was loyal and kind to her mother-in-law Naomi. After the passing away of Ruth’s husband, Naomi’s son, she could have easily returned to her own family and people, but instead, she chose to stay with Naomi and take care of her. Ruth did work tirelessly to provide for them, gleaning in the fields and trusting in God.

It was her selflessness and hard work that eventually led her to meeting Boaz, a relative of Naomi’s husband. Boaz became her new husband and her provider. So, you see, Ruth’s kindness blessed Naomi and also made her a part of the family of King David, and eventually, the lineage of Jesus Christ.

If someone has been supportive to you, showing you kindness and being so generous, they deserve a prayer message from you. They are your helper. Their actions have been a blessing to you, so all you will do right now is to prepare a message praying that God bless and multiply their efforts. Remember Ruth’s story—the same applies here.

Prayer Message for My Helper

We have created a really simple message you can send to someone, all in the form of prayer, to show this person that you are grateful. As part of the prayer, we’ve included Bible references for depth and inspiration.

1. Blessing Prayer

Heavenly God,

Today, I come before you with a heart full of gratitude for my helper. They have been a blessing to me, even much more than I expected. Just as you multiplied the widow’s oil and flour in 1 Kings 17:8-16, I pray that you multiply my helper’s resources.

I pray that their kindness comes back to them a hundredfold, and may they be a blessing to many more. Dear God,

Of all the people around the world, you singled me out for blessing through this person. At this point, I lift up my generous helper to you. Please, give this person your protection.

Remember how you were with Ruth. You guided and provided for her. My prayer is to be with my helper all the time. Keep this person safe from harm. If there is any harm on their way, Father, take it away even before they depart their home. As it says in Psalm 91:11, “For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” Send your angels to surround them, keeping them safe and secure in your love.

My Lord,

I know my helper also seeks joy, strength, and wholesomeness. This is why I render this prayer message asking you to fill them with your joy. May they know that their efforts are not in vain, and that you are working everything out for their good (Romans 8:28).

Almighty God,

James 1:5 encourages us to ask for wisdom from you, and it says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

This is why I pray that you give them wisdom beyond their years. Not just that, help them to apply it in a way that honors you. May they be a shining example of your wisdom, and their life be a testament to your goodness.

5. Prayer Message for Health

Lord My Father,

My helper’s health is important, and I am praying that they be physically, emotionally, and spiritually well. Please, fill my helper with your healing, and restore them to fullness of life. Does it not say in Psalm 103:2-3, “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases”? I pray that you will heal any sickness, and that you will bind up any wounds or hurts. Help them to be a vibrant example of your grace, and their life a testament to your goodness.

Dear God,

While my helper may be generous, they also need favor, precisely your heavenly favor. Please, bless them in all they do and make their life a success. Filly this helper of mine with your favor and prosperity in all areas of their life. For the Bible says:

And they will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. (Psalm 1:3)

I pray that you will give them favor with others, and that they will be successful in all their endeavors. May they be a shining example of your goodness to us all. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

7. Spiritual Growth Prayer Message

Dear God,

My prayer is for my helper’s spiritual growth as well as maturity. I pray that you root and ground them in their faith. May they be filled with your Spirit and may their heart be transformed by your love.

Ephesians 3:16-19 says:

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

On this note, I pray that you will help them grow in their faith. Make my helper an example of your love.

8. Prayer Message for Protection from Harm

Our Father,

I ask for the protection of my helper from harm or any evil fashioned against them. I trust that in your care, they will be safe. Please, shield them from the schemes of the enemy. Instruct your angels to watch over them just as it says in Psalm 91:4, “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”

My prayer message is that you will keep them safe from harm’s way. Amen.

9. Gratitude and Humility Prayer

Dear God,

I know that for someone who helped me, it was your will for them to do so. But now, I have neither silver nor gold but prayer for their gratitude and humility. Don’t let them be carried away by the world; help them to always be thankful for your blessings and remain humble. May they be filled with a heart of gratitude and ability to always acknowledge your presence.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, you guided us to give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for us. Now, my prayer message is that you help this person who helped me to cultivate a heart of gratitude and humility. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

10. Message for Unity in Prayer

Dear God,

Please make my helper a peacemaker and a source of love and understanding. Fill them with your Spirit and transform their heart with your love. It says in John 17:21, “That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” I hereby call on the heavens to help them build bridges of understanding for this person who has come through for me in my tough time.

11. Courage and Strength

Dear God,

Perhaps my helper has not asked but I now ask that you feed them courage. They need this strength to be bold in their faith, irrespective of where they find themselves. Let your power fill their heart with love for you and others out there who believe in you. In Joshua 1:9, your word says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Now I know that you’ll always be with us. So, I write this prayer message asking that you keep walking the paths with this person to boost their courage wherever they go or in whatever they do.

12. Prayer to Encourage Faithfulness and Perseverance

Heavenly God,

Faithfulness and perseverance are characteristics that also require your intervention in our life. This is why I write this prayer message asking You to help this person who helped men remain faithful to your calling. He/she needs your strength to persevere in the face of obstacles.

Today, I ask that you fill them with your Spirit. Help their hearts transform by your love. As it says in Hebrews 12:1-3:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I pray fervently that you will help them remain faithful. And most importantly, let other people see your greatness and example of love through this person.

Tips to Write a Prayer Message to Someone

• Your prayer message should begin with a warm greeting. If you know this person’s name, please address them by their name to personalize your prayer to them.
• Show appreciation for the person while also calling on God to be their replenishing father.
• Be specific with your prayer, and focus on either guidance, healing, or strength. And most importantly, pronounce God’s continuous blessings upon their life.
• You can use the scripture to reference relevant Bible verses or quotes. This isn’t a necessity but it can add inspiration. Sometimes, this helper you’re praying for might refer to the Bible to keep reading and consuming this word of the Lord that you’ve shared with them.
• Write a prayer message from the heart only. You don’t need beautiful words. Just be natural and say the exact words from your own mind.
• Make your prayer short. Yes, it’ll still pass the message as a long one would but a short prayer like what we’ve discussed in this guide will go a long way.
• End your prayer with blessing words so that the recipient can say ‘Amen’ after reading your message.

It’s such a beautiful gesture to see that you mean well for your helper by offering prayers to compensate for their help. As we mentioned earlier, you may not have silver or gold to give in return but prayer will go a long way.
