King Saul was a very sad and scared personality. He had a mean spirit inside him that made him do bad things. Eventually, they found a young boy, David, whose musical skills will help Saul.
Before David went to play for the king, Samuel had poured God’s anointing oil on his head. When Samuel poured the oil, God’s spirit came into David. The oil did help David become a great leader, and it even made King Saul feel better. Today, we’re going to use this blessed oil to pray to God. We will ask God to help, heal, and make us strong.
What is the power behind anointing oil?
Why is anointing oil so special after all? Is it just a fancy bottle of oil, or is there something more to it? Well, the power behind anointing oil is not the oil itself, but the fact that it represents God’s love and power. It is a special symbol, just like a cross or a Bible. Anointing oil is something we can use to ask for God’s help and guidance in our lives.
When we pray with anointing oil, we’re using it to connect with God, and to ask for His help and healing. We’re saying, “God, I believe in Your power and love. Please help me, heal me, and guide me.” So, the power of anointing oil is not the oil itself, but our faith in God. It’s how we trust that He will answer our prayers, and will be with us all the time.
Where in the Bible does it say anointing oil prayer?
In the Old Testament, we see many stories about people using oil to show that someone or something was special to God. For example, in Exodus 30:22-33, God told Moses to mix together some very special ingredients to make a holy anointing oil. It was used to anoint the Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, and even the priests themselves!
In Leviticus 8:10-12, Moses poured this special oil on the head of Aaron, the high priest. It was s sign that Aaron was chosen by God to be the leader of the priests.
Coming to the New Testament, Jesus’ disciples used oil to pray for the sick. Mark 6:13 says, “They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.”
And then we also have James 5:14-15 where we’re told that if someone is sick, they should call for the church leaders to come and pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord.
Anointing oil has been used for a long time to help people and move God to do something for us. It a sign of us believing in God’s power, and Knowing that we want to be closer to Him.
Prayer with Anointing Oil
Do you have a bottle of anointing oil with you? If yes, apply a drop on your forehead. It’ll even be better if a priest has blessed it. Otherwise, pray over it first to call upon the power of God to take over the oil. Now, say this prayer.
1. Prayer for Healing with Oil
Dear God,
You are the Great Physician who has the power to heal me. You healed the leper in Matthew 8:3, so I pray for You to touch me with your healing hand and make me whole again. Anoint me with your oil, and let your Holy Spirit flow through my body, and heal every sickness and disease.
I pray that you will restore my health, and that I will be able to live a life that honors you. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer and for being my healer.

Our Father,

Oh Lord,
I stand before your presence asking for your strength to carry me through this difficult time. I know I am weak and tired. I also need your power to overcome the difficulties ahead. You have always been my rock, refuge, and salvation. “The Lord is my rock, my salvation, and my glory.” – Psalm 18:2
You give me the strength I need to persevere. Please, anoint me with your oil, and let your power flow through me.

5. Anointing Oil Prayer for Peace
Heavenly Father,
I’m feeling anxious and scared. I’m not sure what’s going to happen, and I’m worried about the future. I know that you are the Prince of Peace, and that you desire to give me a heart of peace.
Can you help me, Lord? Can you calm my fears and quiet my heart? I know that you are in control, and that you have a plan for my life. Please, Help me to trust in you, and to believe that you are working everything out for my good.
In times in the past, you have given me peace in the midst of turmoil. You have been my rock, refuge, and salvation. Therefore, I ask that you do that for me again today. As you anoint me, Father, let your peace flow through me. Help me to let go of my fears, and rest in your love. I know that you are the one who gives me peace, and I ask that you give me a heart of peace today.

Please, allow your cleansing power wash over me. Help me to let go of guilt and shame, and to start anew. Give me a clean heart and a new start. I don’t deserve your forgiveness, but I ask for it anyway. You are a God of mercy and grace, and I need your forgiveness to move forward. Help me to forgive myself and others, and to move forward in your love and grace.
Help me to learn from my mistakes, and to use them to grow closer to you. Give me the strength to make amends with those I’ve hurt, and to start fresh with a clean heart. Thank you for your forgiveness and love. In Jesus name. Amen.
7. Prayer for God to Anoint Me with Wisdom
Father,
Your wisdom is beyond human understanding, and I believe it is available to me through your Holy Spirit.
I wake up everyday having to make decisions and choices. Now, I ask You to guide me with your wisdom. Help me to see things from your perspective, and to make decisions that honor you. Give me discernment, and also help me to apply your wisdom to my life.
Your promise in James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” You have spoken as a promise that if I lack wisdom, I can ask you and you will give it to me generously. I claim that promise today, Lord, and please give me a wise mind.
Help me to trust in your wisdom, and to believe that you are working everything out for my good. Give me the faith I need to trust in your plans, and to follow your path.

Our Father,
I feel overwhelmed. I am also fearful about the difficulties ahead of me. This is why I need your courage to stand strong. I want to anoint myself with your power to be able to face my fears head-on. You are the God of strength, and I know that you desire to give me the courage I need to live a life of faith. Please, give me a heart of courage, and that you help me to stand strong in the face of fear and uncertainty.
I remember the story of Joshua, who was commissioned by you to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. You promised him that you will be with him wherever he went, and that you will give him the courage he needed to overcome. I claim that promise today, Lord, and I ask that you give me the same courage and strength.
