If someone is owing you money, by the time we are done with prayer, God will touch their heart, whether they refuse to pay or not, and they will pay back. Let’s look at the Bible, Luke 19:1-10. In the town of Jericho, a chief tax collector named Zacchaeus had amassed wealth by exploiting other people. One day, Jesus Christ visited Jericho, and Zacchaeus, eager to see him, climbed a sycamore tree to get a glimpse. Jesus called out to Zacchaeus, and he welcomed Jesus into his home. Moved by Jesus’ presence, Zacchaeus vowed to restore fourfold what he had taken from others and give half of his possessions to the poor.

What have we learned here? That God’s presence alone is enough to transform people, and in return restore what was lost. Zacchaeus made amends, and as we will pray for God’s presence, all your debtors who owe you will repay the amount they borrowed, and even with interest that comes from their heart.

Prayer to Get My Money Back from My Debtors

We love to reference the Bible because it contains God’s words that will guide our prayer points.

1. Prayer when Contacting my debtor owing me money

Dear God,

I am currently in need of money, and I have debtors who are yet to pay back. Some, when I call, they say, “I will pay back soon,” and then I don’t hear from them again. Maybe my mistake was not involving you whenever I asked for my money. But right now, I am before you with a humble heart begging you to intervene.

Psalm 37:21 – “The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous show mercy and generosity.”

I have been wronged by someone who owes me money and has not paid back, and I pray that you guide me as I contact them both on phone call, email, and text message. I need your wisdom and calmness as I speak with them. Help me to be firm yet respectful.

As I write to them, please inspire my words. May my letter help with a resolution and let my debtor pay back my money. I pray for a favorable response, and may Your intervention bring a resolution.

2. Heavenly mediation between me and my debtor

Matthew 18:19-20 – “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Dear Father,

I am reading out loud your words in Matthew 18:19-20, and I believe that as I’ve come to your presence, you are with me. I am about to file a dispute with my debtor. I remember that King Solomon prayed for wisdom to discern right from wrong in 1 Kings 3:5-14. On this note, I ask for your guidance throughout this process.

My prayer is for you to bring all parties together in a spirit of cooperation. May your Holy Spirit inspire our conversation, that we may find a mutually acceptable solution. God, I ask you for a fair outcome and for my debtor to commence with a repayment plan.

Amen.

3. Prayer to God to be my solicitor

Dear God,

Remember your promise that you shall:

Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. (Psalm 82:3-4)

I need your intervention today as I’m trying to recover a debt owed to me. I remember that prophet Isaiah trusted in your justice in Isaiah 30:18, which is why I am praying for you to be my advocate and solicitor. I need your help through this legal process.

Please, give me wisdom to find an experienced solicitor who will fight for my rights. I need your presence to inspire my solicitor to work on my behalf as if they are working for themselves for a fair and just outcome. I believe that you are a caring Father, and will help this person owing me money to be able to pay back.

In Jesus’ name I pray.

4. Help to find a good debt recovery agency

Father in Heaven,

I liken this debt recovery company to your word in Luke 12:42-44:

Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.

These debt collectors cannot complete this job without you. This is why I come to you to help me find one that is reliable and has fear of God. Please, grant me the wisdom to find a good debt collector that will work diligently.

As I search for an agency, lead me to one that is faithful and smart. They should be able to have a proven track record of success in debt recovery. Let your presence inspire their work, and may they be persistent in going after my debtors. Even the apostle Paul encouraged us believers to be diligent in our work.

I am praying for a positive outcome that my debtors may be held accountable and my debt be fully recovered. In Jesus Name I pray.

5. Be the judge that will instruct my debtor who has refused to pay back my money

Our Father,

Aren’t you One whose works are perfect? One who is pure and has no wrong. I have seen your description in Deuteronomy 32:4 – “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”

This is why I come to you today asking you to intervene in my dispute and grant me justice. I have been owed for too long, and my debtor has been delaying, and sometimes won’t even respond to my messages. My prayer is for you, dear God, to be the judge who will instruct and also help my debtor to pay back what they owe me.

Let this legal process be rooted in justice and fairness, and may the outcome be favorable to me.

6. Prayer to get my money from someone who has filed a bankruptcy or a company that’s being liquidated

Almighty God,

My debtor may be in a difficult situation. I am in your presence to pray for them to get out of any bad situation so that they can handle their responsibilities, including repaying my money as I am in a tough time. They have recently filed for bankruptcy and, I believe they may be in. period of financial uncertainty.

As I register my claim before you, I pray that you give me both wisdom and perseverance. I pray for your presence to inspire the bankruptcy officials and liquidators to work fairly and distribute available funds.

Let the outcome be a successful one, and may I receive a fair share of the funds. May your divine providence bring about a peaceful resolution. In Jesus’ name.

Don’t hold back from praying this prayer because it’ll move God to intervene for you. God can touch your debtor’s heart to set up a repayment plan for you. God can also bless your debtor to have enough to clear their debt, and even pay you interest on that money without you asking. We believe that as you have invited God into your situation, He will answer your prayer, so that you can also solve your problems. You did no wrong lending, and God will get you your money back.
